The Bloke Hills – Western Kennesaw
To the east of the Badlands but still north of the Kennesaw River are the Bloke Hills. These hills are covered with dark and dry pines, sucking what moisture they can from a thin layer of healthy loam over rocky earth. Little consistant water if found here, but streams do flow whenever there is rain fall or from spring snow melt and a few scattered ponds capture it year around. When rain has been rare, this region is at significant risk for major forest fires.
A major road goes north from Terrence through the Bloke Hills, it’s only mentionable stop along the way is Three Bloke’s Spring, as it wanders north to Fort Ulysses.
There has long persisted rumours that there is gold in the hills although it has been decades since the three blokes, Dewey, Chetim and Howe first showed up back east with gold they clamed from the area. They never pursued the claims themselves but profited from the resulting rush by operating a store at the springs named after them.
There is some game in the region, but due to the dense forest it isn’t as favored a hunting or foraging spot as other parts of western Kennesaw.
Finally, there are rumored dark locations with concentrated paranormal in these woods. Sometimes occultists seek them out.
