Paranormal – Species and Rules
Paranormal entities are all over the world of The Foregone Trail. They may be common ghosts of the departed, somewhat neutral natural spirits or hostile demons.
Each type is unique but they share some common features. First, Paranormal entities only have Tears. They do not have any blood or sweat.
Second, they cannot be harmed by any corporal means, except silver or quick silver, which will do Tears Damage instead of Blood Damage.
Finally, they all have the ability to form some sort of attachment to things in the natural world. These attachments grant them control and/or other effects on the target. These attachments can be broken by Tears Damage, in ways specific to each type or in general using skills like Expulsion.
Paranormal Attachment Levels:
Each level of attachment can be resisted by making a will check. The strength of which is determined by the type of paranormal.
The Paranormal must also select an additional contact point for each increased level. If the contact point is destroyed, the level of attachment is lost.
- Oppression – The Paranormal Entity may use their Oppression Actions on the Target
- Haunting – The Paranormal Entity may use their Haunting Action on the Target
- Bonded – The Paranormal Entity may expend Tears to take control of the target for 1 round
- Possession- The target must make a will check to take any action, if failed the Paranormal entity is in full control of the target.
