Modifications – Stat and Action Alterations
Various classes, items or skill training grant a character modifications to their base stats or change how effect how those skills function. These may or may not have skill levels
Farm Strong – Hard work has increased your Sweat:
- Low: +5 Sweat
- Mid: + 10 Sweat
- High: + 15 Sweat
- Expert: + 20 Sweat
Fleet Footed – You are swifter than most
- Increases Free movement by 1
Situational Awareness – Your familiarity with a specific environment improves your observation score
- Low: +1 Observe in Specific Environment
- Mid: +2 Observe in Specific Environment
- High: +3 Observe in Specific Environment

Extreme Effort – You are able to dig deep and exert more effort at the expense of your health.
- Low: Exchange 1 Blood for 3 Sweat
- Mid: Exchange 1 Blood for 4 Sweat
- High: Exchange 1 Blood for 5 Sweat
- Expert: Exchange 1 Blood for 6 Sweat
Hold One’s Liquor – You have adapted to the effects of alcohol and can function better than most under its influence.
- Low: Increase Breaks on Drink Counter by 1 and reduce Hangover duration by 3 hours
- Mid: Increase Breaks on Drink Counter by 2 and reduce Hangover duration by 3 hours
- High: Increase Breaks on Drink Counter by 2 and reduce Hangover duration by 6 hours
- Expert: Increase Breaks on Drink Counter by 2 and reduce Hangover duration by 11 hours
Two at Once – Your exception dual pistol wielding allows you to shoot at two separate targets during a single round.
- Low: Cost 5 Sweat
- Mid: Cost 3 Sweat
- High: Cost 2 Sweat
- Expert: Cost 1 Sweat
Gun Brawling – You are able to fight in melee and shoot your weapon in the same round. Character is dealt cards for both melee and shooting actions and they resolve independently.
- Low: Add 3 Distance Categories to the Shot Break
- Mid: Add 2 Distance
- High: Add 1 Distance
- Expert: No Additional Distance
Faith in Hardship – Your Piety carries you through thin times. You can substitute prayer for meals required for recovery actions.
- Low: Substitute 1 hour prayer for 1 sleep meal per day
- Mid: Substitute 1 hour prayer for 1 sleep meal and 1 rest meal per day
- High: Substitute 30 minutes prayer for 1 sleep meal and 1 rest meal per day
- Expert: Substitute 10 minutes prayer for 1 sleep meal and 1 rest meal per day
Battle Hardened – Your experience in battle reduces the effect of near miss attacks
- Low: Reduce any near miss Tears damage by 5
- Mid: Reduce any near miss Tears damage by 10
- High: Reduce any near miss Tears damage by 15
- Expert: Reduce any near miss Tears damage by 20
Conditioned Warrior – You’re training kicks in when you’re injured.
- Low: Expend 3 Tears to reduce injury status by 1 for 1 hour
- Mid: Expend 3 tear to reduce injury status by 2 for 1 hour
- High: Expend 2 Tears to reduce injury status by 2 for 1 hour
- Expert: Expend 2 Tears to reduce injury status by 2 for 1 day
Patient Aim – You know how to wait for the best shot. Adds cards to shooting skill when you are not moving for each round you take the shooting action and do not bet your bullet. Target must be in view and inside max range for all rounds
- Low: Hold for 1 round, add max 1 card
- Mid: Hold for up to 2 rounds, add max 1 card per round (2)
- High: Hold for up to 3 rounds, add max 1 card per round (3)
- Expert: Hold for up to 5 rounds, add max 1 card per round (5)
Fanning – You’ve mastered the skill of quickly fanning a light revolver to get more shots per round. Cannot be used on heavy revolvers or any other weapon type.
Low: Shoot 2 bullets in a single round/bet, add 3 to the distance.
Mid: Shoot 2 bullets in a single round/bet, add 2 to the distance
High: Shoot 2 bullets in a single round/bet, add 1 to the distance
Expert: Shoot up to 3 bullets in a single round/bet, add 1 to the distance per additional round.
