A character is a sentient actor in the game. It can be played by a player or the game master and includes humans, creatures, monsters, paranormal, divine and others.
Characters typically have several components:
- Life Force: Blood, Sweat and Tears
- Note: Paranormal type characters are incorporeal do not have blood
- Movement Speed: Flop (Free) – Turn – River
- Casting Dice: The number of dice they can use for casting skills
- Check Ranks
- Observe: Their ability to sense things at a distance
- Reaction: Their ability to quickly change their action
- Care: Their ability to take careful actions and avoid peril
- Hase: Their ability to take hurried actions
- Vigor: Their ability to take complicated physical actions and deal with illness or poison
- Type: Human, creature, monster, paranormal, etc
- Age: For many creature types this sets their base stats
- Level: This shows how many upgrades they’ve been able to make to their skills
- Class: This sets their available skill tree and cost for upgrading skills
- Skills: Specific actions the character can take in game
- Action Type: Set by the Skill description
