Werewolves – Cryptid

Werewolves are terrifying and somewhat common cryptids that torment the west. They often are the alpha of a pack of normal wolves. They are slightly larger than a human and can run on all fours or walk upright and use their front paws almost as dexterously as a human.

They do not use any weapons or tools, but occasionally a dead one will be found to be wearing human jewelry, leading some to believe they are corrupted people or possibly that being a werewolf is the condition of a disease.

Werewolves will primarily bite when running on all fours but will slash with their claws in engaged in a standup melee fight. They possess incredible regenerative power and immense stamina. Only wounds caused by silver or quicksilver do not immediately regenerate and even the most significant wounds heal in seconds.

They are known to be afraid of large fires and Leary of even small ones. During the full moon ranchers are known to start large bonfires around their herds to protect them from the werewolves.

Intimidation: Threating harm to gain compliance

  • Pup: None
  • Young: Mid
  • Adult: High
  • Middle Aged: Expert
  • Old: Mid

Melee – Claws: Non-ranged exchanging of blows

  • Pup: Low, Small Knife
  • Young: Mid, Medium Knife
  • Adult: High, Medium Knife
  • Middle Aged: Expert, Medium Knife
  • Old: Mid, Medium Knife

Wrestling: Attempting to physically control another character

Bite Strike: Ranged bite attack by a creature

  • Pup: Low, 1sq range, Small Knife
  • Young: Mid, 2sq range, Medium Knife
  • Adult: High, 2sq range, Medium Knife
  • Middle Aged: Expert, 2sq range, Medium Knife
  • Old: Mid, 2sq range, Medium Knife

Chomp: A creature closes its mouth causing damage, injury and/or wounds.

  • Pup: Low, 1B damage per 1S over, target cannot take +movement
  • Young: Mid, 1.5B per 1S over, target can only move 1 sq.
  • Adult: High, 2B per 1S over, +1 wrestling condition
  • Middle Aged: High, 2B per 1S over, +1 wrestling condition
  • Old: Mid, 1.5B per 1S over, target can only move 1 sq

Searching: Basic skill for physically interacting with a location, looking for a specific target.

  • Low, unless object has a known scent, then expert.

Throwing: Chucking, yeeting, tossing, etc.

Trail Craft: Skills for navigating regions outside of cities or human settlements

  • Pup: Low
  • Young: Mid
  • Adult: Expert
  • Middle Aged: Expert
  • Old: Expert
